Show car celebrated its world premiere at the Volkswagen Group Night in Geneva
The Škoda VisionS show car celebrated its world premiere at the Volkswagen Group Night on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show 2016.
“The emotive concept car gives an insight into a new, large SUV production model that will be launched in the autumn of this year. The VisionS is designed in an expressive, modern and dynamic way; the design is a balance – typical for Škoda – of rationality and aesthetics,” Škoda Auto said in a news release.
“Aside from the future SUV design language, the show car demonstrates the most important technological innovations that Škoda will be focusing on in the coming years. Above all, these include electromobility, connectivity and safety,” the carmaker added.
The car is not meant to go into production, but instead is meant to showcase concepts that will be incorporated into future models.
The carmaker first revealed sketches of the concept car Feb. 2 and photos two weeks later.
VisionS has a length4.70 meters, a w of idth of 1.91 meters, and 1.68-meter height. It features three rows of seats.
“All the edges and lines are clear, precise and sharp; crystalline design elements accentuate the exterior. The interplay of light and shadow creates powerful effects on the strikingly chiseled surfaces,” Škoda stated previously.
Over recent years, Škoda has completely renewed and expanded their model range. The next phase will involve broadening the range of models in the SUV segment, the carmaker said recently.
